During 2009, Altara has been involved in the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authorities Indonesian Transport Safety Assistance Package. Altara has been assisting by training the Indonesian regulatory authority (DGCA) in the areas of Safety Management. This programme to date has trained in excess of 65 inspectors and continues under an implementation and mentoring programme for the remainder of 2009.

Altara has been contracted in 2009 to provide manual amendment assistance to a number of Australian regional operators.

Altara has also recently developed a Chief Pilot interview preparation course. The course is designed to assist pilots who are about to undertake CASA assessment for Chief Pilot positions.

Altara has recently been awarded a contract to obtain an Australian Air Operators Certificate on behalf of Ascent Helicopters, a helicopter fire fighting company based in Canada. Altara will be managing the entire application on behalf of the operator and looks forward to assisting in providing this essential service to the State of Victoria.

Altara was awarded a contact to complete all Foreign Air Operator Certificate assessments on behalf of the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority in late 2007. Under this arrangement Altara, under the guidance of CASA, are responsible for the regulatory assessment of all foreign airlines wishing to operate into Australian territories.

Altara has now developed a new industry wide outsourced safety management programme.  This programme will provide significant safety improvements and cost savings to the industry.

Altara has been working closely in 2009 with the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) on developing a National Audit Programme targeting general aviation, regional, corporate jet and helicopter operators in Australia.

Our programme is set for launch at the RAAA convention in September 2009 and is sponsored by an Australian major insurer.  It is targeted at improving safety standards in these areas of the aviation sector in Australia.

Altara is presently working with Australian operators to provide fully outsourced audit programmes.  Under this system, Altara operates as the ‘Audit Manager’ and develops, delivers and manages a full audit programme on behalf of an operator.

Altara works closely with our partners ARG/US PROS in the US in the provision of IOSA qualified auditors for audits across the globe.   

ARG/US PROS has been an IOSA accredited Audit Organisation (AO) since the programmes inception in 2003 and is currently recognised by the IOSA Programme Office as being the number one rated AO in terms of Quality Control statistics and results globally.

A new start corporate jet organisation based in Asia chose Altara to assist in the development of their operations manual suite and provide ongoing assistance with their Air Operators Certificate application.

Altara has also provided Security, Safety & Emergency Procedures as well as Safety Management training to the Macau Jet team during 2009.
